04/01/2011 Entry: "Concerts I've listened to, March 2011"

  • 1985-10-12 Dire Straits New York City NY Madison Square Garden - Guests Billy Joel and David Sandborn. Really? Fascinating but sadly not a very interesting show to listen to. Great comments between songs from the tapers.

  • 1984-08-27 New Order London UK Heaven - Great club show! Really super clear recording.

  • 1971-11-05 Pink Floyd New York City NY Hunter College Assembly Hally - Why don't have a recent remastering of this show? It's one of my favorite eras!

  • 2011-02-03 OMD London UK Mermaid Theatre - live on BBC. I think that there was some transcoding done on the broadcast, but it sounds awesome! Sadly. only 66 minutes.

  • 2004-05-06 Muse Nurburgring Germany Rock Am Ring - Broadcast. Starting to explore earlier Muse.

  • 2011-03-17 OMD Austin TX Mellow Johnny's Bike Shop - SXSW broadcast. Nice, intimate, but short gig. I really wish the rest of the SXSW performances were circulating! I've love to heard Moby with OMD.

  • 2010-03-15 Muse Nashville TN Bridgestone Area - The south seems like an odd place for a Muse show. A bit distant, but extremely clear.

  • 1986-03-03 Prince Minneapolis MN First Avenue - The premier of the "CounterRevolution". One of my favorite Prince shows... and supposedly from a recently discovered recording.

  • 2011-03-08 Ben Folds Cologne Germany Live Music Hall - Way to quiet. But very clear.

  • 2011-03-25 Muse Santiago Chile Estadio Nacional - Really really nice clear recording, especially for a stadium. Amazingly good drum sound.

  • 1990-06-16 Rush East Troy WI Alpine Valley Music Theater - So not the best recording, but something new surfaced so I had to listen to it. So tired of the hissy on the old tapes though.

  • 1995-06-06 Radiohead Toronto ON RPM Club - Around the time I first saw them... I had a tape of this before, but never realized that it was a board tape. Nice!
